Race Information, Registration times and Race numbers
Please read the Race Guide in advance – there is important information here regarding the arrangements to ensure the event is COVID-secure and the new duathlon race format.
Adult and Junior course summaries are available here.
Registration times and race numbers are available in the following files.
It is important that you arrive ready to register at your assigned time to help us manage the flow of competitors through registration. You will be greeted at the top of the stairs leading down to the volleyball court and asked to proceed to registration at your assigned time.
Health Declaration
In line with BTF COVID-secure guidelines, all competitors are required to complete a health declaration. Please do this before arriving at the event using our online form.
Location and Parking Information
The event takes place at Crystal Place National Sports Centre, Ledrington Road, Upper Norwood, London, SE19 2BB
There will be free car parking on the top terrace. Crystal Place station and bus terminal have excellent links.
Please check with Network Rail for any planned engineering works over the weekend. The Network Rail link also contains links to journey planners, phone numbers for helplines etc.
Car Parking The entrance to the free car park is off Anerley Hill, just below the Crystal Palace Museum and will open at 07:00. The route from the car park to registration is marked on the map below.
Please display a copy of the parking permit in your car – you can either print this out in advance or collect one at the entrance to the car park. You may be asked to wait for vehicles to exit the car park. Please follow the marshal’s instructions.

Spectator Information
Participating in the duathlon is a lot more fun with the support of family and friends so Crystal Palace Triathletes welcome you as a spectator and hope you enjoy the day. This year we need to ask that you follow the current government guidelines on social distancing to keep the event as safe as possible.
You may wish to have a look at the course summaries so that you can find a suitable spot within the park to cheer on those racing.
Dogs should be kept on a lead at all times while the race is taking place.
If you have any questions or queries during the race, please free to ask any of the marshals who will be wearing hi-viz vests.
Adult Race
Competitors can chose between two distances – the full sprint and the super sprint. Distances for each race are shown in the table below.
The adult race is open to competitors aged 17 and over at 31 December 2021. We assume that those aged 17-19 years old wishing to compete at the shorter distance will chose to race in the Junior category (see below).
The race will be in a time trial format with each competitor started individually. You will be assigned to a wave of approximately 30 competitors to allow us to manage the flow of people through registration. Please arrive ready to register at your assigned time. This will allow you plenty of time to take your bike into transition and prepare for the race.
Course Summaries are available here.

Junior Race
The Youth/TriStar races will be run according to British Triathlon rules, ages and the distances raced. We aim to set courses using the upper limits of British Triathlon guidance and they are therefore at the tougher end of junior triathlon races. The bike course for all categories is contained within the park but (except for TriStart) is tough as it involves a hill climb and fast descent on each lap of the park. Please ensure your child is confident and able to complete the course before entering them.
Juniors age 17-19 have the choice of entering the junior category or racing in the adult full sprint distance category.
Age categories and distances are provided in the table below.
The junior race will be in a time trial format with each competitor started individually. You will be assigned to a wave of approximately 30 competitors to allow us to manage the flow of people through registration. Please arrive ready to register at your assigned time. This will allow you plenty of time to take your bike into transition and prepare for the race.
Please note that junior race start times are approximate as they are subject to the adult sprint race and subsequent junior races finishing without any delays.
